Caressed by the sun
Edged with burning sand
Burning ambition of man
I inspire, I acknowledge.

Luminescent, a pearl.
Of the Creek, whose
Black waves curl
Slither and capture my reflected glory.

I glint and I gleam
I catch the eye and hold your gaze.
The truest wedding of East and West
Promised feast for all seasons.

And lights, lights
I, City of brilliant
Lights, lie before your eyes.
So I take your hand
For a dance.

Spinning on the smouldering sand
Skimming the cool waves
Gliding beneath the towers
Who pierce a nearby sky
Waltzing, swaying to
The glittering life.

And thus you shall turn
Clap and cry
Oh, Dubai!
